"Hi I'mnotinlabor"

I used to just say "hello" when making a phone call, but apparently this is the preferred greeting these days.

In the spirit of assigning mature characteristics and powers of reason to a person still in the womb, we've come up with some theories about when this might actually happen.

  • BabyW is stubborn, really stubborn. I've nooooooo ideeeeeeeeeea where he'd get this.
  • M is consistently 10 minutes early for everything and J is consistently ten minutes late. Would that make him right on time?
  • Lucy has scared him into fear and submission by barking every time M starts talking to my belly. BabyW is currently clinging to the walls of my uterus in terror.
  • BabyW has heard about the dog and baby chick hats I've knitted for him. He's thinking he needs a few more days with his dignity.

Dear BabyW,

I promise it's warm and cozy and really exciting out here. We'll do snuggling and food and all kinds of kisses if you'll just join us out here where the action is.

You're ready, I'm ready. Let's jam.

Love,

Mama
