Thanks to two "yellow notes" (behavior warnings from his teacher), one on Monday and one on Wednesday, Jack spent the entire week without television, video games, his computer, or visits to friends. On Friday night I asked him to think about how much it all stunk and also asked for his assurance that it would never happen again. He thought about it and said:
"Let's not talk about the past."
Something we might be talking about for awhile: Our second ice storm in as many months. I'm fortunate enough to be in a warm house with electricity, typing about it and posting these pictures. Most of our neighbors are not so lucky, and one of them even has a tree in her bedroom. You might recognize our yard. Or, you might not...
